HISTORY
Incorporated in 1920, Cross Plains was organized into three settlements, Cross Plains, Foxville, and Christina. Residents were primarily German, Irish, and Norwegian immigrants.

Schools in Cross Plains are part of the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District. There are eight 4K and elementary schools and four middle and high schools in the district.
